First-year player Henderson has tallied five scores during the current campaign

The New England Patriots matched their longest winning run since the Tom Brady period as they beat AFC East rivals the New York Jets by 13 points in the NFL

First-year standout Henderson led the way with three scores as the New England squad secured an eighth straight win for the first time since iconic QB Brady's final season with the team in the 2019 season

Quarterback Drake Maye threw for 281 passing yards and a score, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The win extends the Patriots advantage at the top of the AFC East as they improved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York bottom after dropping to two wins and eight losses

The visitors had taken the lead at Foxborough with QB Fields scoring a five-yard TD to conclude the New York's first possession

But the home team fought back in the second period as Henderson scored two short rushing scores before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the back of the endzone midway through the third period to extend the lead to 21-7

"It was a big time for him rising to the challenge, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He desires to be outstanding."

Fields connected with Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to reduce the lead for the visitors but Borregales kicked a pair of field goals in the final period as the home side closed out the triumph
